Kitemill AS is a Norwegian start-up company in the Airborne Wind Energy segment; focused on development, production and sale of airborne wind turbines. The forces from the wind are converted to energy in an innovative way by a system of only a few components and minimal amount of materials to provide the high efficiency and capacity. Kitemill employs a small team of skilled and experienced experts, and the prototype testing is carried out in Lista, Norway.
To meet its challenges and development targets, Kitemill is now recruiting an Aeronautical Engineer.
The Aeronautical Engineer will have the internal responsibility to develop and produce the most efficient kite for the kite turbines. He will contribute to the development of the planform, up to the manufacturing of the kite as well as the final testing of the system. He will work together with our collaborating partners on finding an optimal solution dependent on the specifications / requirements that are defined.
The person will have the internal responsibility to develop and mechanically construct (or contribute to) parts of the system (related to kite). He will contribute in the development and design as well as in the final testing of the system. He will produce production-ready drawings using engineering methods.
Your background will ideally encompass a design engineering degree. As a result, we expect the engineer to be able to use 3D CAD (e.g. SolidWorks) or other engineering drawing programs. The person should have experience with documentation and manufacturing methods. Competence in the area of structure analysis (aeroelasticity) / composite materials is a strong plus.
Ideally the candidate has aerodynamics experience from the aviation / defense industry.
English writing and communication are mandatory. The person should be independent and self-motivating. A passion for renewable energy is a must!
